I turned my phone on silent when I went to the movies on Friday night and forgot to put the sound back on until late Saturday night. Not many people call my cell phone, so normally this wouldn’t be a big deal. This weekend it was though, because on Saturday the Virginia Romance Writers announced their winners of the prestigious HOLT Medallion. And they’d been trying to get a hold of me for a while.
Here’s my slightly delayed announcement that VIKING WARRIOR RISING was selected by the reader judges as an Award of Merit Finalist in the Best First Book category and the Winner of the HOLT Medallion Award for outstanding literary fiction in the Paranormal/Time Travel/Futuristic/Fantasy
Hubby is away on the west side of the state to climb Mount Rainer with our nephew, so it’s just Sammy the dog and I who are celebrating tonight. I seem to be more enthusiastic about the award than Sammy.
